Ethnic violence is becoming widespread in Moscow

"The movement against illegal immigration " (DPNI) has made an announcement about the May Day demonstration in Moscow, in which it thanked Gennadii Zjuganov, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, for an invitation to the demonstration, and also the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow (MOB) and personally General Kozlov for the keeping of the peace during the procession and suppression of violence.

In the afternoon of the 1st May, a column of nationalist-patriotic forces including the DPNI, NDPR, ROD, "Russian Order ", " the National Union " and others took part in the May Day procession, organized by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Nationalist-patriots, numbering roughly two thousand people, together with communists, marched in a uniform column from the Kaluga Square towards the Kremlin.

As mentioned earlier, the basic slogan was the demand to limit the influx of immigrants to Russia from former Soviet republics. " Spring, First of May! Illegal Immigrants - leave! ", Without immigration our salaries will be higher! Labour is glorious - not the occupation of immigrants! ", - shouted the Moscow demonstrators. We emphasize, once again ,that this demonstration is an expression of the solidarity of all the workers of Russia against the threat of foreign strikebreakers to the Russian labour market ", - announced the DPNI in a press release..

In spite of the fact that nationalist-patriots asked to finish the procession on the approach to Theatre Square and were forbidden to join the meeting, the leadership of DPNI thanked the organizers of the demonstration, " We thank the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and personally comrade Zjuganov for the invitation to the demonstration and the opportunity to carry out our right to state our demands and carry our banners. They also thanked the MOB the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow and personally General Kozlov for the keeping of the peace during the march and suppression of ultra left marginal anarchist and Trotskyist groups. Also it would be desirable to note the bravery the Russian patriot General Kozlov who provided cover to the DPNI column, and the leadership of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, which allowed us to show our banners, despite of pressure on the part of known provokers - Gelman, Dudaev and Tyulkin. We are sure that with the support of the mayoralty of Moscow, in the near future we will organize mass demonstrations in which will take part tens of thousands of Muscovites. Glory to Russia! ", - emphasizes in the announcement, released by press-service DPNI.
