The Militia Detachment of Special Designation (OMON) Protects Chechen Children, on Holiday in the Vladimir Region, from Skinheads

As in previous years, children from Chechnya have been invited to spend their summer holidays in the Vladimir region. Armed OMON forces protecting the childrens camp were shown in a regional TV report. The camp director explained the necessity of a 24-hour guard as follows: Last summer there was a violent attack by more than 50 skinheads on a camp with children from Chechnya.

It is striking that law-enforcement organs did not make this public. Whats more, senior officers of the local militia tell journalists that there are no extremist nationalist youth groups in the Vladimir region.
