International Muslim center Vostotshnaya Skaska to emerge in Moscow

The Russian government made a decision regarding the creation of the complex Vostotshnaya Skaska (Eastern Fairy Tale) in the center of Moscow which will include representations of the Muslim states, five- or seven-star hotels and a business center. This was declared last Wednesday by the counselor of the president of the Russian Federation, Aslambek Aslakhanov, at a press-conference dedicated to the visit of the secretary general of the Organization Islamic Conference (OIC). According to him, this project has many investors.

Aslakhanovs statement in this context sounded like an attempt at adjusting the cooperation between Russia and the OIC in humanitarian questions as well as in the sphere of science and education. This is true in particular for the Russian Academy of Science and the Institute of Oriental Studies from the Russian Academy of Science.

Besides Aslakhanov, the highest-ranking visitor who arrived in Russia in order to carry out negotiations with president Putin and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov was a representative of the president of the Russian Federation for relations with the OIC and other organizations, Venyamin Popov.
