The �Union of Armenian Women in Russia� was Created in Moscow


The �Union of Armenian Women in Russia� was created in Moscow. It will function as the Russian branch of the Armenian women organization �Union of Armenian Help�, which has been in operation since 1910.

As reported in Russia�s Armenian newspaper �Erkramas� by �news-Armenia� on Monday, the �Constitutional Meeting of the Union of Armenian Women in Russia� was held on June 8th on the initiative of the social organization �Russian-Armenian Commonwealth�.

The Union of Armenian Women in Russia was created so that the Union of Armenian Help, already active in many countries, can cooperate with Russia� Armenian community in order to promote development in the spheres of charity, education, culture and the upbringing of young people.

During the meeting, the executive committee was elected. The president is Armine Arakelyan, director of the Moscow General Educational School �1888.

Asmik Terteryan, President of the Central Executive Committee of the Union of Armenian Help and Uri Navoyan, president of the Russian-Armenian Commonwealth were present at the constitutional meeting of the Union of Armenian Women in Russia.

Therefore, Russia has become the 25th country in which the Union of Armenian Help, the oldest Armenian women�s organization, is active.
