We have received a grant.

In the framework of the EU TACIS program Support to Civil Society and Local Initiatives (IBPP) a grant of 200,000 euros has been awarded to the Center for Interethnic Cooperation and the Dutch network organisation UNITED for Intercultural Action () for the creation of network of ethnic organisations in Russia, opposing racism and xenophobia. The term for the realisation of the project is 18 months.

In the framework of the project, we will hold conferences in Krasnodar, Perm, workshops in Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Samara, Stavropol, Smolensk, Saratov and Novosibirsk. One of the main aims of the project is cooperation between ethnic organisations and local authorities. In order to do this, apart from representatives of ethnic associations, workers in local government will also take part in our events in the aforementioned cities.

The Center for interethnic Cooperation hopes that regional authorities will contribute towards the costs of realising the project in their region. As the Network will function on the internet, representatives of national associations who will take part in our events will generally be no older than 35.

In order to learn from a European experience of building a network which opposes racism, the authors of the project are organizing two trips to Amsterdam. The website of the Center for Interethnic Cooperation will play an important role. Its planned that by the end of the project, several thousand people will visit it each day.
