In France Anti-Semitism Grows Stronger

The number of displays of anti-Semitism in France has sharply increased in 2006, according to a report from the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France -CRIF.

The CRIFs data concludes that the number of attacks on Jews has increased in 2006 by 46 %. There have been 112 anti-Semitic attacks reported against the Jewish population last year and 77 similar incidents have already been registered this year.

Based on the CRIFs figures, anti-Semitic actions have significantly increased after the brutal murder of Elana Halemi in February, 2006 and after the war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
