The Center for Interethnic Cooperation organized and supports the Network of national organizations in Russia
The basic task of the Network of national organizations is to protect the right and the freedom of representatives of ethnic minorities. Unfortunately, namely representatives of ethnic groups are mainly subject to discrimination and humiliation in modern Russia. In addition, minority voices are rarely heard not only to the authorities, but also to the media. To be heard, to influence the situation, it is necessary that the national associations of Russia coordinate with each other about their actions. Such coordination will allow more efficiently to represent common interests of members of different national groups, such as when negotiating with the authorities of the local and federal level and with other organizations and associations, including the media. The Network of National Associations in Russia creates the technical possibility for this coordination. Currently, the Network comprises nearly 200 ethnic communities in Russia.
