Growth of extremist crimes in Russia

The number of extremist crimes is growing in Russia. As “Russian Newsweek” reported in the investigatory committee in the Prosecutor’s General Office, only in the first half of the year 2009 were registered more than 500 crimes of extremist orientation. This number exceeds the previous number of more than 100 criminal cases.

The investigatory committee in the Prosecutor’s General Office sent to court more than 43 criminal cases concerning 60 persons. The most resonant affairs concern Neo-Nazi groupings. In the investigatory management of Moscow, seven criminal cases concerning skinheads are investigated.
