Musical conductor beaten in St. Petersburg

A Chinese citizen was beaten last weekend in an underground crossing at metro station Sadoyaya. According to law enforcement agencies, the Chinese musician and working director from a foreign theater had arrived in St. Petersburg a few days earlier on a tourist visa, called the police to say that while walking in an underground crossing late in the evening he was beaten by a group of young people.

The victim was hospitalized with a fractured nose and at this time his heath is not in danger.

A criminal case has been opened according to article 112, part 2 YK (intent to injure a to a significant degree).

The Administration of Internal Affairs (UVD) did not exclude nationalist, racist, or religious hostility as possibilities for the beating.
