“Together for Intercultural Action” – This is the European Network against nationalism, racism, fascism and in support of migrants and refugees. Racism, nationalism, fascism, discrimination, policies of restricting migration – these are problems which have significance in the whole of Europe. Connected with each other for the help of the network UNITED, more than 550 organisations from all over Europe are working together. They base their cooperation on simple, joint actions and on mutual respect. UNITED is and remains independent of political parties, organisations and governments, but will continue to strive for active interaction with other anti-racist initiatives in Europe. With the help of UNITED the organisations find new partners, work on joint projects by changing information. All-European actions, campaigns and many other activities are planned and discussed on conferences of the network UNITED. Similar organisations find each other on these conferences and start to work on joint projects with concrete subjects. Employees of the secretariat of the network continuously communicate with participants of the network providing them with background information. The secretariat receives information of more than 2000 organisations and realised a mailing list of more than 2500 groups from all over Europe. If you want to enter the network, discuss first the ideas and aims of UNITED with your colleagues and friends and understand how similar they are to those of your organisation. Tell us if you want to receive our information. And add our e-mail-adress (

Why participate in the European Campaigns?
Think Globally, Act Locally!
Racism is not a problem of a single country. The European Campaigns help to reach a maximal audience. We have to act on local, regional and all-European level to extend our point of view at a maximum. By combining regional and national action, we will be able to attract the attention of the society within Europe. We have to demonstrate that a huge amount of people believes in the possibility of an intercultural open society. This gives us all the energy and the strength to continue the daily struggle against racism and intolerance. You can draw inspiration from the ideas and enthusiasm of other people, learn from their experience and views, draw more public attention due to the scope and scale of the actions, attract to your activities by far more people, etc. If you want to take part in this campaign, remember that the diversity and originality of different actions which take place within all Europe at the same time make the campaigns of UNITED unique. Therefore: start to act! Search for like-minded persons and go on!
How UNITED can help you
UNITED puts together a whole list of all actions which are held in Europe, that can help you with the search for partners, to work out ideas and change of opinions with other organisations. It is regularly updated and posted on the site www.unitedagainstracism.org in the division ‘campaigns’.
If you have difficulties in finding partners and like-minders, please call UNITED. Maybe we have information about organisations in your region which are also going to take part in a campaign.
UNITED sent special press-releases to all organisations of the Network as well as to the major media in Europe: in newspapers, on the radio and television, etc. Journalists who wish to learn more about concrete actions, can directly address the organizers in the region. After 9th of November, UNITED will launch an all-European report in which it tries to include information on all past actions.
How you can help UNITED
We cannot succeed without your help. Help us to make our press-releases more complete and interesting – write us about the actions you will hold. Send us your announcements and leaflets before and after your actions. Tell us your contacts so that the reports are more complete. Make sure that the information about your actions is complete and right. We wait for your reports, newspaper articles, photographs and other materials – right after the actions!
“I am against fascism” – a poster competition for pupils organised by the Center for the Support of Migrants in Nizhniy Novgorod on the 9th of November.
